If there’s something that never ceases to amaze me in the custom car world, it’s the fact that people go through extremes just to set their cars apart from the rest. See, people buy cars based on many factors such as looks, purpose, reliability, speed, power, or what have you; so more often than not, the cars we end up buying are ones which other people own as well. Because if they’re that good, other people buy them too!
So when it comes to customizing the cars we purchase, we do things to it based on our own personal tastes. Our cars are as unique as we are as individuals. So in order for our cars to stand out amongst the other people who have the same, we customize and modify them. Such is the case with Jun Escaner, and his 2012 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 2.0T.

Jun’s wife first came to me last year, saying that her husband Jun, who was working overseas, saw our feature on the Atoy Customs Hyundai Genesis Amuse. She said that her husband wanted the same thing done to their brand-spanking-new Tsukuba Red 2012 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 2.0T. A few weeks later, they were happily enjoying owning and driving what is probably one of the coolest customized Hyundai Genesis Coupes on the planet.
But as with all project cars, things are never finished. With the recent buzz about the much coveted 86/FRS Rocket Bunny kit, it wasn’t hard to find inspiration from it. Imagine a Genesis Amuse, its track width already greater than most cars at 5ft. 3.6 in., enhanced even more with the addition of aggressive Rocket Bunny-inspired overfenders…
…that add 40mm to each of the front fenders…
…and a whopping 65mm to each of the rears. The end result is an extremely wide footprint, so much that a Hummer H1′s track width is merely 2.88 inches more!
Of course, adding the other Rocket Bunny-inspired elements such as the aero front lip, side skirts…
…and the unmistakable wing…
…blended together with the Amuse kit that was first installed to it, made for a Hyundai Genesis Coupe so awesome and unique that it won the Best Custom Bodykit award at the 2013 Trans Sport Show. Kudos to Atoy customs, as they continue to set the benchmark when it comes to building some of the greatest custom cars on this side of the world.
